Personality Alphabet Challenge

This year, 2020, is the 30th Anniversary of the ADA or the Americans with Disabilities Act. Without this Act, I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing now. There is still a lot to do though so this is just the beginning. July is also Disability Pride Month so I was trying to come up with a fun topic to start off the month.

I came across a blog on Medium.com by Juliana Ruggiero called Facts About Me Using The Alphabet. They opened it up to anyone who wanted to try it so here we go. The letters will either be personality traits, favorites, or topics as some of the letters were trickier than others.

A to Z:

A – Ambivert; I prefer to be around people and doing things but I can come off as quiet when we first meet. Once I’ve built a sense of trust with someone, I will be more extroverted if the situation is needing it.

B – Books; my top 4 favorite book genres are autobiographies, fantasy, mystery & realistic fiction. It doesn’t matter if it is audiobook or a physical book.

C – Creative; in the past few years I’ve been drawing more and I’ve always been one for music.

D – Disabilities; my primary disabilities are Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus. I also have several allergies and kidney issues.

E – Energy; I feed off the energies of people around me easily and sometimes let it affect me more than I should.

F – Fandoms; my top fandoms are Disney/Pixar, Harry Potter and Criminal Minds; Yes, I know those are totally different interests.

G – Green & Gold; colors of my favorite professional football team.

H – Honesty; I value honesty when speaking with me and I’m honest with others.

I – Inspiration; my inspiration to do what I’m doing right now is to have a place that I can raise awareness to disability issues whether they be in daily living or society.

J – Joy; I try to find joy in what I do so it doesn’t seem like work.

K – Kindhearted; I care for the people in my life and I’m there for people even if I’m going through something myself.

L- Laughter; if something really makes me laugh, I will most likely be crying which is ends up making me laugh even more because I can’t stop it.

M – Music; I will listen to anything if it doesn’t have extremely explicit language.

N – Nerdy; I’m always learning and wanting to know the behind-the-scenes. If I already have an interest in the subject, you will find I have an even wider range of information about it. This nerdiness can be seen in my style choices of choosing comfortable and practical over formal.

O – Overthinking; I tend to overthink things even if everything is completely fine. It can cause things to take twice as long sometimes. I don’t want to mess anything up.

P – Public Speaking; I’ve been public speaking since I could read.

Q – Questioning; I think it goes back to the overthinking but I tend to, either in my own head or out loud, ask a lot of questions prior to deciding on whether I want to go do something. I am also open to questions, even if they seem weird.

R – Routine – I do better with some sort of routine of the day or at least a planned gathering to make sure I can participate before going there.

S – Sports; football, baseball & basketball are my favorites.

T – Trust; this #1 for me when it comes to any type of relationship.

U – University; alumna from University of Wisconsin – Whitewater

V – Vocal; I was super vocal growing up and for awhile I lost that. I need to not be afraid to voice my opinion constructively and let people know exactly what I want.

W – Welcoming; I am welcoming to anyone and willing to give anyone a chance.

X – Excited; I can get really excited when its something I want to do. When it falls through, I am usually more disappointed than if it were something, I was so-so on doing.

Y – Yearning; I’m always yearning to learn new skills or information. If you are like me, this will be the place for you.

Z – Zen; I’m trying to reach a balance in my life. I feel the most Zen when I’m dancing around listening to music, spending quality time with friends or binge-watching my favorite shows or YouTube channels.

If you would like to do this challenge as well, feel free. If you have any questions contact me any time. See you again soon.
